International Sales Assistant

Certis USA LLC is currently seeking a highly-motivated individual to join the Operations team as an International Sales Assistant. The International Sales Assistant reports to the EVP of Operations and Development.

The International Sales Assistant will interact with international customers to complete Certis sales transactions. The successful candidate will purchase order confirmations, check product availability, work with production and logistics department, review export documentation, and follow up with payments. Organizational abilities are essential due to maintaining and updating customer files and profiles.

This position is located in Columbia MD. International travel is a requirement. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills, and possess extensive expert knowledge of the export and import business, preferably in the field of agriculture.

Required Education and Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of international trade, incoterm, payment mechanisms, duties/tariffs, customs clearing, insurance, transportation regulations.
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in the export/import business—preferably agriculture.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) including strong interpersonal and facilitation skills to deal effectively and tactfully with people at all levels of management, with the ability to secure action from staff and management in a matrix organization
  • Strong results orientation with the ability to think strategically while paying close attention to details
  • Strong track record of consistently meeting milestones and commitments
  • Proficient in Spanish
